The website today
The current website does not accept direct email subscriptions or run advertising. Its hosting providers process network, device and security information needed to deliver and protect the site.
Simple website statistics
To understand which articles are useful, Late2AI counts page requests and clicks through to its LinkedIn newsletter. Only daily totals are kept, grouped by page and a broad referral category such as LinkedIn, search or direct/unknown. These totals cannot tell us who you are, whether you read an article, or whether you subscribed on LinkedIn.
The statistics do not store IP addresses, email addresses, visitor identifiers, full referral addresses, search terms or browsing histories. No analytics cookies, browser fingerprinting, advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts are added. Common bots and prefetch requests are excluded where identifiable; counts can still include repeat visits and unidentified bots.
Totals are stored on the existing Sites/Cloudflare hosting. Entries older than 90 days are removed when the next counted request is processed. The hosting providers may separately retain operational and security records under their own policies.
You can stop your requests contributing to these totals. The preference applies to this browser on this hostname. A cookie containing only the word “off” remembers that choice for up to one year; it is not a visitor identifier. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are also honoured.
This browser has not opted out. Privacy signals may also exclude your requests.
Contact
If you email Late2AI, the information in your message is used to read and respond to it, keep necessary correspondence, and protect the service from abuse. Late2AI does not sell that information or use it for third-party advertising.
Email subscriptions and existing subscribers
Direct email signup on this website is currently paused while the email service is being repaired. The existing newsletter service at newsletter.late2ai.com is provided by Beehiiv. You can also follow Late2AI on LinkedIn, which has its own account and privacy terms.
For the existing email list, Late2AI and Beehiiv hold email addresses, subscription and confirmation status, signup source and dates, and delivery, bounce, complaint and unsubscribe records. Messages you send to Late2AI are also held so James can respond.
Beehiiv currently records email opens and link clicks against subscriber records and may process device, browser, approximate location and security information. Opens can be triggered by mail privacy tools and clicks by security scanners; they are not reliable proof that someone read an email. This processing is separate from the anonymous website totals above.
Late2AI is reviewing this setup before reopening email signup here. Individual email tracking has not yet been disabled. Late2AI does not use these records to score readers, personalise advertising or make significant automated decisions about them. The website statistics opt-out above does not turn off Beehiiv email tracking.
Why information is used
Subscription choices are used to provide the emails a reader requests and to honour withdrawal of that choice. Delivery, security and suppression records support the legitimate interests of operating a reliable service, preventing abuse and making sure an unsubscribed address is not mailed again. Correspondence is used to respond to enquiries. Records may also be needed to meet legal obligations or handle a claim.
This notice describes the current service; it does not ask you to consent to individual email tracking. That part of the email setup remains under review.
Service providers and overseas processing
The website uses Sites and Cloudflare hosting. Beehiiv hosts the existing subscriber list and delivers subscription emails, using its service providers. Email correspondence is handled through the publication's email provider. Those providers also process information needed to secure and operate their services.
Beehiiv is based in the United States, so subscriber information can be processed outside the UK. Its Data Protection Addendum sets out its processor arrangements and international-transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum where applicable. Its privacy policy describes processing for its own purposes. You can contact James for more information about the safeguards applying to your information.
How long it is kept
Active subscription information is kept while needed to operate the subscription. Delivery, security and correspondence records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes, legal obligations or a claim. After unsubscription, a minimal suppression record may be kept to honour that choice and prevent accidental re-enrolment. This is separate from the 90-day limit for anonymous website totals.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter email or by contacting James. You may withdraw consent, ask to access, correct or delete your information, request a portable copy where applicable, or object to or restrict its use by emailing hello@late2ai.com. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your information has been mishandled.
